Shana Davis scored the go-ahead goal at the 13:54 mark in the second period as the Adrian College women's hockey team was victorious in its first-ever league game.
The Bulldogs earned their first win of the season with a 6-3 triumph over Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Friday's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Hobbs Ice Center.
Jessica Grubbs, Ainsley Coon, Brooke Zaleski, Stacey Kempson and Olivia Rork also had goals for Adrian (1-4, 1-0 NCHA).

University of Tennessee swimmer Giles Smith had a good night in the pool Friday.
The freshman from Baltimore - UT's first black swimmer - anchored the victorious 200-yard medley relay team that had a time of 1 minute, 28.87 seconds and earned a B-cut.
His teammates were Ricky Henahan, Mattias Kahlin, and Mike DeRocco.
The team is working really hard and every day is a challenge. Tonight was my first B-cut and I feel really good. It was an eye-opening experience. -Giles Smith

The West Ottawa girls swim team came into the Division 1 state meet ranked seventh, but after a strong preliminary session, the Panthers have their sights set a little higher.
"We should be fighting for a trophy," West Ottawa coach Steve Bowyer said.
Trophies are awarded to the top four teams at the meet.

The 49th season of Goshen High School boys swimming starts Tuesday at New Prairie.
The Redskins are again coached by Scott Garvin who is working with a squad of two dozen hopefuls including eight returning lettermen.
"Numbers are up and we expect a lot of good things from this group," said the coach.

Federal Way, Decatur, Thomas Jefferson and Todd Beamer all at least got one of their swimmers into the second day of competition (finals or consolation finals).
Two of rhe schools --TJ and Beamer -- finished high as teams in third and fifth, respectively, at the prestigious WIAA 4A girls swimming and diving state championship meet at the Weyerhaueser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way Nov. 12-14.
TJ had the most smiles afterward as a team, since finishing third meant they got on the podium where

WHEN young James Lawson brought back two gold medals from last month's 8th Junior African Swimming Championships in Mauritius, most local followers of the sport breathed a huge sigh of relief.

The Bangladesh Olympic Association yesterday reinstated the men's 200m breaststroke in swimming for the South Asian Games to be held in Bangladesh from January 29 to February 9 next year.
The South Asian Olympic Committee on Wednesday included the women's 400m freestyle event, scrapping men's 200m breaststroke in its 40th executive committee meeting and the BOA yesterday reinstated the dropped event to raise the men's events to 12 while women's events stands at seven.

Yach, 51, plans to swim from Three Anchor Bay to Robben Island and back (rounding the iconic island anti-clockwise) to raise funds for the Cadiz Open Water Swimming Development Trust.
If the calm conditions remain, Yach will enter the icy Atlantic ocean early tomorrow morning for a mind-numbing, day-long swim.
Speaking to Times LIVE from Cape Town, Yach said the number one risk was hypothermia, followed by sharks, jellyfish and other hazards.
